About Les Habitudes
Les Habitudes is a Los Angeles fashion institution—an
archive-boutique known for dramatic eveningwear, couture-level bridal, and rare
designer pieces that feel like they belong on a red carpet, a film set, or in a
collector’s wardrobe.
Established in 1982, Les Habitudes built its name the
old-school way: exceptional garments, obsessive detail, and the kind of
personal service that makes stylists and clients return for decades.
Today, we continue that legacy with a tightly curated edit
of vintage, deadstock, and archival designer fashion—plus select pieces from
the Les Habitudes house label, including hand-beaded garments made in England
in the 1990s and again in the 2000s.
A Los Angeles Story, Written on Robertson Boulevard
For years, Les Habitudes lived at the center of L.A.’s most
famous shopping strip—Robertson Boulevard, in the West Hollywood / Beverly
Grove corridor—an area synonymous with stylists, paparazzi, and celebrity
retail culture. Les Habitudes was listed at 101 N. Robertson Boulevard, a few
doors from the street’s most photographed storefronts.
In the press (selected quotes):
“A few doors from Kitson is Les Habitudes… Exquisite
European gowns… embroidered lace and hand-applied crystal beads…”
— The New Yorker, “To Shop and Drive in L.A.” (March 20, 2006)
“This fantasy boutique is full of heavily beaded evening
gowns, wedding dresses, capes and jackets…”
— Los Angeles Times, Robertson Boulevard shopping feature (July 16, 1999)
“Since 1982, Les Habitudes has been known for their
exquisite evening and bridal wear.”
— Robertson Boulevard Shopping Guide (archival listing)
That combination—bridal + eveningwear + European designers +
a cinematic sense of drama—is the DNA of the brand, and it still guides
everything we buy and sell.
Hollywood Clientele, Stylists, and Red-Carpet Energy
Les Habitudes has long been part of the Hollywood fashion
ecosystem: the kind of place stylists stop when they need something specific,
special, and camera-ready. Robertson Boulevard itself was profiled as a place
“where stars shop,” and Les Habitudes is called out as one of the key stops.
What We Carry
Our curation focuses on pieces with craftsmanship and
impact—items made to be remembered, photographed, and kept.
Expect:
- Hand-beaded
gowns and occasionwear - Corsetry
and sculptural bodices - Bridal
with a romantic or editorial edge - Avant-garde
European designers - Collectible
accessories (hats, boots, jewelry)
You’ll also regularly see (and we actively seek) designers
such as:
- Marc
Le Bihan - Eavis
& Brown - Gatti
Nolli, David Fielden, Yolancris, and more—depending on what the archive
yields season to season.
Because we work from an archive (not mass production), our
inventory is intentionally limited and constantly changing. Many pieces are
one-of-one.
Where We Are Now
Les Habitudes is now based in Southern California with an
appointment-only showroom and storeroom in Agoura Hills—a quieter setting that
lets us operate like an archive: pulling selections intentionally, handling
delicate pieces correctly, and giving clients time to shop properly.
We work with:
- Private
clients (event dressing, bridal, wardrobe-building) - Stylists
and editorial pulls - Collectors
seeking rare designer work and deadstock treasures
The Point of View
Les Habitudes has always been for people who want clothing
with presence: romantic, powerful, a little dangerous, never generic.
We believe:
- Craftsmanship
outlives trends - The
best pieces already exist - A
truly great garment changes your posture before it changes your outfit
